Our Anglican Foundations
Anglicans believe in one God who has three equal elements: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus, the Son, lived and died to provide guidance for us in all our relationships, including the one with God. We have only two formal rites or “sacraments”: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (“Holy Eucharist” or “Holy Communion”).
Bible scriptures are the basis for our Anglican beliefs. We recite either the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed or the Creed of Athanasius during a service to state these beliefs. To guide our worship service at St. George we use the Book of Alternative Services and occasionally we use other services approved by the Diocese.
We believe that Christian life involves praise and prayer on a regular basis. More information can be found on Our Beliefs page.
St. George Fairvalley is a member church of the Diocese of Toronto Anglican Church of Canada. More information about being Anglican and the Diocese of Toronto itself can be found on the Diocese of Toronto website.
